
Battling high temperatures and stiff competition, KAS House have emerged as champions for 2026.
The 151st Sydney Grammar School Athletics Championships were held at Weigall on Wednesday 25 February in sweltering conditions. Despite the heat, the boys performed exceptionally well, producing a highly competitive and entertaining day of athletics.
Age Champions were Kobe Chee (U13), Zac Heller (U14), Kimi Patokallio (U15), Alexander Hu (U16) and Angus Windeyer (U17).
Lachy Webster was the convincing winner of the WH Savigny Memorial Trophy for the Open Age Championship, amassing a total of twenty-five points. In an impressive display of versatility, he won the Open 800m and 1500m, finished second in the 400m, fourth in the 200m and fifth in the 100m.

One of the most captivating events of the day was the U15 200m. Gabriel Lambros led off the bend but was courageously run down by Kimi Patokallio in the final 50 metres. The U14 competition was dominated by Zac Heller, who claimed victories in the 100m, 200m, 400m and Shot Put. In the U16 division, Alexander Hu won the 400m, 800m and 1500m, holding off a fast-finishing George Wharton in both middle-distance events.
The U17 competition was also closely fought, with Angus Windeyer narrowly defeating Felix Carrasco by two points. Angus won the 100m, 200m and Long Jump. Max Heller also produced a dominant performance, winning both the U16 and U17 Shot Put events.
