New library officially open

Edgecliff Preparatory School is now better equipped than ever to inspire and support the boys’ educational growth with this engaging new space for exploring literature and learning.

We are thrilled to announce the opening of the brand-new School Library at Edgecliff Preparatory School! After months of planning and preparation, the space was officially opened by Dr Malpass with Evan Wilshire (Year 6) winning a competition to be the first pupil to enter. He was closely followed by the Year 1 class who were the first group to enjoy a lesson in the vibrant space.

The new Library is ready to inspire young minds and foster a love of learning in our School community. The refurbishment has been enhanced with adaptable spaces which epitomises its central place in the life of the campus; it is a multifaceted learning hub offering a range of services for students and teachers. It is designed to be a welcoming, bright environment where pupils can explore a diverse collection of books as well as educational resources to support their learning. With an entrance tunnel based on our School mascot, Wisey, the Library now has cosy reading nooks, breakout spaces, flexible learning areas and colourful lighting. It is truly the perfect place for students to dive into a wonderful story or discover new ones.

Our School is committed to fostering literacy and providing pupils with the tools to enhance their academic growth. The Library is open for all pupils to visit during class time, as well as lunch breaks. A variety of exciting reading programmes and events will also be hosted throughout the year, including Book Week, National Simultaneous Storytime, author visits and themed reading challenges.

We are excited to see our boys use this updated space to read, learn and grow. Here’s to a new and exciting chapter in Edgecliff’s history!
