St Ives - Teacher Librarian

This position will commence at the beginning of Term 1, 2020. This is a fulltime appointment and the successful candidate will be required to teach library lessons from Preschool to Year 6, be familiar with automated library systems, possess highly developed interpersonal skills, work alongside teachers to develop and deliver inquiry-based programmes and create a vibrant and welcoming environment where the love of reading and literature is always encouraged and promoted.

The Teacher Librarian will also be required to be a part of the School’s Debating programme, as well as assist in the editing and publication of the School’s annual magazine.

This position will commence at the beginning of Term 4, 2019 or Term 1, 2020. This is a full-time appointment and the successful candidate will be required to teach Italian lessons from Kindergarten to Year 6, be familiar with the new NESA syllabus, possess highly developed interpersonal skills and work alongside teachers to develop and deliver both explicitly taught language skills and inquiry-based cultural programmes.

The Italian Teacher should also be able to create a vibrant and welcoming classroom environment where the boys gain effective skills in Italian, explore the relationship between Italian and English and develop an understanding of the Italian culture.

The successful applicants will be enthusiastic, creative and dedicated educators who are strong and positive collaborators who will embrace the rich and unique Grammar culture. They will also be expected to engage in the wider life of the School including extra-curricular commitments.

Human Resources - Compliance Officer

The School is seeking applications for a temporary position as an HR and Compliance Officer from 1 September 2019 to 23 September 2020 to cover maternity leave. The successful applicant would work under the overall direction of the Headmaster in dealing with matters relative to staff contracts and agreements, staff inductions, policies, procedures and reports with particular reference to WHS, migration, privacy, subpoenas, the School’s Annual Report and other matters as required. An HR, Compliance or legal background would be an advantage.

French

A temporary position in our Modern Languages Department teaching French will be available across Terms I & II 2020 to cover maternity leave. The successful applicant will be dynamic and able to teach French confidently up to HSC level. A willingness to participate fully in the life of the School, including its co-curricular and pastoral programs, is expected.

Physics/Chemistry

The School seeks an outstanding Physics teacher and also an outstanding Chemistry teacher for positions commencing in Term I 2020. The successful applicants will have strong backgrounds in their subject and will be able to teach up to HSC level. A willingness to participate fully in the life of the School, including its co-curricular and pastoral programs, is expected.

SPORT COACHING - St Ives

Boys in Years 3-6 participate in sporting teams and activities each week throughout the School year. Applications are invited from enthusiastic and committed coaches to work between 10 and 20 hours per week, including Saturday mornings.

No formal qualifications are necessary however it is mandatory to have current first aid certification. The rate of pay is $30.00 per hour. Please email a copy of your CV and 2 referees to Mr Townley-Jones, Sportsmaster at bmt@sydgram.nsw.edu.au
