Sydney Grammar School is an independent secular school for boys located in Sydney, Australia.
FROM THE ACTING HEADMASTER
Grammar is a vibrant community bound by a strong sense of history, purpose and values.
HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Sydney Grammar School is one of the oldest schools in Australia. Its ancestor, the Sydney Public Free Grammar School, opened in 1825 with LH Halloran as Headmaster.
Each day boys travel to Grammar from all over Sydney—as they have done since the 1850s. Travelling to the city each day teaches boys independence and confidence and exposes them to life beyond their local suburb.
