Pastoral Care

We aim to develop fine young men who are creative, intuitive and sensitive to those around them. Our boys need good hearts as well as sharp minds. The Pastoral Care Programme focuses on building relationships and providing opportunities for boys to feel connected to their community. The House System allows boys to build friendships within their year group and across the grades, through various sporting and social activities, as well as programmes such as Helping in Playground (HIP) and the Buddy System. Our boys learn the importance of forming positive relationships and developing a capacity for optimism and resilience. The boys are given a moral platform from which they can make appropriate choices. We actively seek to teach the boys about respect, empathy and taking responsibility, by engaging them with ethical considerations, issues of social injustice and other relevant problems. Our ‘Code of Respect’ helps to guide the boys with their moral decisions, and informs the values by which they live their lives.
