Old Sydneians' Union
The history of the Old Sydneians'' Union goes back to the time of A B Weigall, the second and the longest serving Head Master of the School, who gave forty-five years' service to Grammar until his death in 1912.
As part of Weigall's vision the School maintained contact with its former pupils through The Sydneian, which carried information and stories about Old Boys' careers and achievements.
A constitution was adopted which included the following provisions:
- The Union to be called "The Sydney Grammar School Old Boys’ Union".
- The objects of the Union shall be to strengthen the bonds between past and present members of the School.
- Any Old Boy, past or present, Master or Trustee for the time being, may become a member of the Union on paying his subscription to the Hon. Treasurer.
- Membership shall cease if payment of subscription be not made within six months after the annual meeting.
- The annual subscription shall be 5s., payable in advance.
- The management of the affairs shall be vested in the following officers:- A President, eight Vice-Presidents, two joint Hon. Secretaries, an Hon. Treasurer and a Committee of ten.
